SPEAKING SOMEONE ELSE’S LANGUAGE

I’m online too much. It has become a substitute for reading, and that really irks me. Unfortunately, the siren call of a myriad of interesting topics lures me. Some actually advance my knowledge; some are a supreme waste of time and demonstrate to me the level that society has sunk to for entertainment.

Nevertheless, I tell myself that I’m “de-stressing”. You know how that goes. Instead of doing something productive, progressive, and problem-solving, you watch a video that has the social value of The Three Stooges throwing pies in faces.

Well, I happened to watch a video of a young man a few days ago. Don’t ask me who or what; I didn’t save it, but it was about this young man’s true life experience in the demon realm.

I understand that many people don’t give much credence to the devil and demons, but in my understanding of the world, we are in a pretty clear-cut battle between good and evil (how else could someone even imagine Star Wars?).

So most of this young man’s experience was stuff I had heard before, in different venues, but I listened with half-an-ear as one does when one is “de-stressing” from all we endure in this First World country. And suddenly, my ears perked up.

He was describing hearing demon babble… I can't remember if it was from a friend who had suddenly manifested a dark persona, complete with demonic inflections, or if it was general voices in the night that he had been hearing, but he said...

This demonic voice continually uttered the F-word. A word this man had been no stranger to.

And his realization at that point was that this word is directly from the language of demons. Whoa.

Despite how ugly this word is, the average person uses it frequently and carelessly. It doesn’t even carry the obscene clout it used to. It is a descriptor, it is an accentuator, and it's a “don’t mess with me” word. When we are bombarded with offensive language, it becomes so easy to adopt the careless attitude that lets it slip into our speech occasionally. To express ourselves, of course.

That part of the video must have hit me where it hurt, because the awareness that this young man felt after his redemption, was the recognition of where those words originate.

So, I don’t remember the details, exactly, of that video. Probably couldn’t even find it. But in the same way I threw out my Harry Potter books when I found out J.K.Rowling used actual incantations and spells she had researched, as well as demon names she had discovered in writing her tales, I have a new perspective on foul language. It doesn’t come from the realm I want to be in. I know, I’m not preaching; I'm just telling you what was in my burn pile after I began to discover evil laying around my house. Do what you will; I don’t need any extra demonic influences, Thank you.

As always, when we are honest about where we are coming from, we run the risk of being thought to be extremists, or worse. So be it. I value God’s opinion. I did stupid things when I didn’t know any better, and I bet we all have. It’s only when you know better and you still keep doing those things that your intentions aren’t in alignment with your actions

I don’t want to invoke these entities in their own language anymore. Do you?
